The owner's insights on the Etna Rotante 16"
The rotating stone is what people buy this for, though it is the second burner that makes it work. Slide a cold pizza onto a normal oven floor and the stone temperature drops, so the next one waits while it recovers. The Etna has a booster burner underneath the stone that keeps heating it while you cook. That is the difference between one good pizza and eight in a row.
It reaches 500°C in about fifteen minutes and turns a pizza out in ninety seconds. The stone turns on its own, so you are not chasing the base around with a peel to stop one side catching.
Two things to be clear about before you order. It runs on LPG only, so there is no natural gas conversion. And it takes roughly an hour and a half to cool down, which matters if you were planning to pack it away straight after dinner.
At 29.8 kg it is portable in the sense that two people can move it, not in the sense that you carry it one-handed to the beach. If that is what you want, look at the Piccolo instead.
Why you'll love the Etna Rotante 16"
Keep the pizzas coming
A booster burner under the stone reheats it while you cook, so the second and eighth pizzas are as good as the first.
Stop turning the pizza
The stone rotates on its own, giving even colour around the whole base without you working the peel.
Fifteen minutes to 500°C
Light it when your guests arrive and it is ready before the dough is stretched.
Room for a full 16 inch base
40.5 cm of stone, which is a proper family-sized pizza rather than a personal one.
Even heat across the base
A U-shaped main burner wraps the heat around the stone instead of driving it up one side.
Nothing else to buy to start
The gas regulator is in the box. Connect an LPG bottle and light it.
Why you should consider a Witt pizza oven
Aluvy build in Isère, in south-eastern France. Every piece carries Origine France Garantie certification, which is an audited mark rather than a marketing line. We hold a price beat on the range: find the same model advertised for less by an Australian seller and we will beat that price. We deliver free anywhere in Australia and check in with you within a week of it landing. If anything ever goes wrong we handle the warranty claim for you. You call us on an Australian number, not an overseas call centre.
Talk it through before you order
The choice between the Etna and the two Piccolos comes down to how many people you cook for at once. Call and we will work it out with you.

Frequently asked questions
What makes the Etna different from a normal gas pizza oven?
Two things. The stone rotates on its own, so the base colours evenly without you turning it. A second burner sits underneath the stone and keeps reheating it while you cook, which is what lets you turn out pizzas back to back rather than waiting for the stone to recover.
Can I run it on natural gas?
No. The Etna Rotante is built for LPG only and there is no natural gas conversion for it. If your outdoor kitchen is plumbed for natural gas, this is the wrong oven.
How long does it take to heat up?
About fifteen minutes to reach 500°C, tested at 20°C ambient with no wind. A cold or windy day will take longer.
How big a pizza does it take?
Up to 16 inches, which is 40.5 cm. That is a full family-sized base rather than a personal one.
How long does it take to cool down?
Roughly an hour and a half. The insulation that holds heat in while you cook is the same insulation that slows the cool-down, so plan for it if you want to cover the oven the same evening.
Is the regulator included?
Yes, a gas regulator comes in the box. You supply the LPG bottle.
Can one person move it?
It weighs 29.8 kg, so two people is sensible. It is designed to live on a bench or the Witt pizza table rather than be carried about.
What warranty does it come with?
Witt give a two year manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. We handle the claim for you rather than sending you to the maker. It does not cover normal wear such as discolouration, tarnishing or rust, damage caused by non-original spare parts, or faults from not following the manual. The pizza stone is treated as a consumable: store it somewhere dry once the oven has cooled, because leaving it in the oven over time makes it brittle. Salt air and pool chemicals are excluded, so a cover is worth having near the coast.
How is it different from the Piccolo?
The Piccolo is smaller and lighter, with a C-shaped burner and no booster. The Etna is the one to choose if you cook for a crowd and want pizzas coming out continuously.
