It extends, tilts and rotates from a single wall bracket, so you can chase the sun through the afternoon or clear a doorway on the way past. Hand-built in New Zealand from anodised aluminium and marine-grade 316 stainless steel, with a UPF 80+ solution-dyed canopy in five stock colours.

One bracket, no floor base
The Retreat mounts from a single 526mm wall bracket. The whole umbrella extends, tilts and rotates from that one fixing, which is why a 2.7m canopy fits on a balcony or against a poolside wall where a cantilever would never work.
Marine-grade, hand-built in NZ
Anodised aluminium frame with marine-grade 316 stainless steel hardware, hand-built in New Zealand and FernMark accredited. The UPF 80+ solution-dyed canopy is washable and fully replaceable, so the umbrella outlives the fabric on it.

Good to know before you buy
- Needs a solid mounting wall. Fixes to load-bearing masonry, rendered or timber-framed walls. Confirm your wall type with us before installing; a qualified installer is recommended.
- Install height. At the recommended mounting height the canopy edge sits ~2166mm off the ground — well clear of tables, loungers and standing guests.
- Extension range clears windows and doorways. ShadowReach™ adds up to 456mm on top of the standard reach, so the canopy hub sits 1419–1875mm off the wall.
- Five stock colours. Oyster, Alpine Stone, Charcoal Tweed, Rust and Black & White Stripe. All at the one price. Fabric is UPF 80+, solution-dyed, washable and replaceable.
- Warranty and extras. 3 years frame, 3 years fabric. One wall bracket kit is included. A second bracket kit for a multi-position install is sold separately.

The bracket is 526mm long and needs a load-bearing wall behind the fixing points — solid masonry, rendered or timber-framed. Mounted at the recommended height, the canopy edge sits about 2166mm off the ground, so tables, loungers and standing guests all clear it easily.
The umbrella hub sits 1419mm off the wall, extending to 1875mm with ShadowReach™, which is what lets the canopy clear a window frame or a doorway swing on the way out. Closed, it stows flat against the wall at 300mm deep and 130–150mm wide — small enough to leave up year-round.

How is the Retreat different from a cantilever umbrella?
A cantilever umbrella stands on a weighted floor base, usually 40–80 kg, that sits under the canopy. The Retreat has no base at all — the whole umbrella hangs from a wall bracket. That is why it fits on a balcony or against a poolside wall where a cantilever's base would eat the floor space you were trying to shade in the first place.
What kind of wall do I need?
A load-bearing wall — solid masonry, rendered or timber-framed — that can carry the umbrella's weight plus wind load through the bracket fixings. Cladding, plasterboard alone or a lightweight fence panel won't do it. Confirm your wall type with us before ordering, and we recommend a qualified installer for the fix.
How far does the Retreat extend from the wall?
The canopy hub sits 1419mm off the wall as standard. Patented ShadowReach™ adds another 456mm (18") of reach for a maximum of 1875mm off the wall — enough to clear a window frame, a doorway swing or seating pulled well away from the wall.
Does it come with the wall bracket?
Yes. One wall mount bracket kit, a wall clip for the closed position and the installation manual are all included. If you want to move the umbrella between two positions, a second bracket kit is available as a separate add-on.
How high should I mount it?

Can I move it between two walls?
Yes, and this is a nice use case for the Retreat. Fix a bracket kit at each location. The umbrella lifts off one bracket and drops onto the other in a couple of minutes — useful for chasing morning sun on one wall and afternoon sun on another. Additional bracket kits are sold separately.
Is the fabric replaceable?
Yes. The UPF 80+ solution-dyed canopy is fully replaceable, so the frame outlives the fabric on it. The fabric is also washable, which matters for the light stock colours like Oyster and Alpine Stone.
