Pressure pumps
A pressure pump starts when you open a tap and stops when you close it. It supplies a house from a rainwater tank, a bore or a dam. It can also lift the pressure where a supply is weak. The pumps here are surface pumps: they sit outside the water and draw it in.
Check three things before you choose. The flow the pump gives at your pressure, because the maximum figure is only reached at low pressure. The pipe size at your pump position. The way the pump starts and stops, either a pressure switch and gauge or an electronic controller.
The DAB cast iron and deep well pumps come bare or with a pressure switch fitted. The Bianco stainless range has an nXt controller. A licensed plumber should connect any pressure pump. Call us with your tank or bore details and we will help you match the pump.
Pressure pump questions, answered
What does a pressure pump do?
It supplies water at pressure when you open a tap, then stops when you close it. It turns tank, bore or dam water into a usable house supply.
What is the difference between the DAB M and MP models?
The M models are the bare pump. The MP models have a pressure switch fitted, so they start and stop on demand without extra parts.
How do I choose the right size?
Count the taps that run at the same time, then check the pump's flow at your pressure. Pipe size and the height the water has to rise matter too. Call us if you want it checked.
Do I need a licensed plumber?
Yes. Pressure pumps connect to your house plumbing and power, so a licensed plumber should do the work.
