The Hotham sits in the middle of the Ochre Living range. That's exactly where most patios and decks want it: full fireplace presence, without the two-pallet footprint of the Perisher.
The firebox opens 940 mm wide, wide enough for the firewood you'd already have split for a normal fire. Pumice insulates so well that the outer render stays cool enough for you to sit close to. The 2,250 mm chimney gives it the same architectural line as the larger model, in a slimmer body.
We place it most often on courtyards and covered decks, sized right for a real fireplace without asking for more room than you have. If your space needs the biggest possible flame, the Perisher suits you better. If you want the smallest footprint, the Ossa is worth a look.
Delivery generally arrives on a single pallet, easier for you to manage on the day than the larger kits.

A collapsible cooking grid, log store and chimney extension blocks are optional accessories. A rain cap is available on request.
What you see in the photos. The storage bay beneath the firebox and the benches either side are the Under Log Store and Side Log Store, chosen with the Configuration option above. Any grid resting across the firebox is the Collapsible Cooking Grid, a separate accessory. Stone cladding and coloured renders are owner-applied finishes, not options we supply.

How does the Hotham compare to the Perisher and Ossa?
The Hotham sits in the middle at 1,090 mm wide, with a 940 mm firebox. The Perisher is the largest at 1,330 mm wide with the strongest heat. The Ossa is the most compact at 685 mm, with a 510 mm firebox. All three share the same pumice build and five-year warranty.
Can you cook on the Hotham?
Yes, with the optional collapsible cooking grid. It sits across the firebox once the fire has settled to coals. Add a pizza stone on top and you can cook pizza too. Both are sold separately.
What base does the Hotham need?
A reinforced concrete slab at least 100 mm thick, sized 150 mm wider than the fireplace on every side. It needs to be level and able to carry 960 kg, whether that's an existing slab or a new pour.
How close to the house or a boundary can the Hotham go?
Build it freestanding, raised on a plinth, or hard against a wall, keeping at least 75 mm clear of anything combustible. Exact boundary setbacks vary by council, so check your local requirements before you settle on a position.
How hard is the Hotham to install?
It's designed for owner installation. The pumice blocks are lightweight for their size and join with the supplied adhesive, no specialist tools needed. Ochre Living's own guide allows about 1.5 hours for the body, 1 to 2 for firebricks and 2 for rendering, then 72 hours to cure before the first fire.
Can the chimney be made taller?
Yes. Additional 300 mm chimney blocks stack onto the standard flue to add height, which improves draw in a sheltered or covered spot where the standard height might not pull smoke away as cleanly.
How is the Hotham delivered?
Palletised freight, generally on a single pallet. Delivery is quoted at checkout based on your postcode, to your door or a commercial depot. Busy periods can add a few days to preparation before dispatch.
What does the five-year warranty cover?
Major structural cracks caused by a manufacturing defect that stops the Hotham being used as intended. It excludes consumables like firebricks and the cooking grid, damage from excessive heat or overloading, and normal hairline cracking, which is common in masonry over time.
