A cantilever umbrella shades from an offset side pole, so nothing blocks the space beneath it, ideal over a pool, a dining setting or a lounge. My Acre ranges Shadowspec, commercial-grade architectural umbrellas with a rotating mast and a tilting canopy. Choose by the area you need to shade and how the umbrella will be fixed: an in-ground or bolt-down mount is far steadier than a weighted base in an exposed spot.
Shadowspec umbrellas are engineered for Australian sun and wind, from the single-canopy SU4 to the four-canopy Unity that shades a large area from one central mast. Every model tilts and rotates to track the sun.

Choose by area and mount: a single canopy over a pool or dining setting, choose the SU4 or Serenity; a large terrace shaded from one point, choose the multi-canopy Unity. Canopy sizes, fabrics, mast finishes and mounting options are on each product page.
All three are Shadowspec, built commercial-grade with a rotating mast and a tilting canopy so the shade follows the sun. They mount on an in-ground sleeve, a bolt-down plate or a weighted base, and offer a range of Sunbrella and PVC canopy fabrics.
A cantilever umbrella catches wind, so it needs a heavy or fixed base and must be closed when wind picks up, and it costs more than a centre-pole umbrella. In return you get a clear space underneath with no pole in the way, and a canopy that tilts and rotates to follow the sun.
No outdoor umbrella is windproof, and we would not tell you otherwise. Fix it properly with an in-ground sleeve or a bolt-down plate, or a base weighted to the maker's specification, close it whenever the wind gets up, and never leave it open unattended. A fixed mount is the steadiest option in an exposed spot or near a pool.
The best cantilever umbrella is the one sized to your space and mounted correctly. For most homes the Shadowspec SU4 (from $3,490) is the pick, single canopy, tilting and rotating. For a large area shaded from one mast, the Shadowspec Unity multi-canopy (from $8,390) is the statement piece.
On an in-ground sleeve set into concrete, a bolt-down base plate fixed to a slab, or a heavy free-standing base, depending on the model and your surface. A fixed mount, in-ground or bolt-down, is the most stable and the best choice near a pool or in an exposed position.
