The owner's insights on the Unity
We reach for the Unity when one umbrella isn't enough on its own. Two, three or four canopies share a single mast and footing, each arm rotating and locking on its own ShadowLock, so one side of a pool deck can sit shaded at midday while the other tracks the last of the afternoon sun.
Every canopy opens the same way as the Serenity: a gas strut and the ShadowGlide carriage do the lifting, about five seconds each.
We've fitted Trios along restaurant courtyards and Quattros beside resort pools, where four separate umbrella bases would have eaten the budget before the fit-out even started.
It's built for scale, not a single balcony table; a Duo on the smaller arms still needs proper floor space for its footing. For one table or a lounge chair cluster, the single-canopy Serenity is the simpler, cheaper fit for your space.

Sizing the Unity for your space
Match the configuration to the footprint you need to cover, not the other way round. A Duo on 2.5m canopies covers about 12.5 m², enough for two separated seating groups; step up to the 3.0m Quattro and you're covering around 36 m² from one central footing. Allow clear space for each arm to complete its rotation without catching a wall, planter or pergola post. The mount footprint runs roughly 700 to 900mm square depending on configuration; Trio and Quattro carry more canopy load, so we generally recommend the In-Ground Anchor over a Free-Standing Base for those. Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between Duo, Trio and Quattro?
The Duo carries 2 canopies, the Trio 3 and the Quattro 4, all sharing the same central mast. Choose based on the seating footprint you need to cover.
How large a space can a Unity cover?
Up to about 36 m² from a Quattro on the larger canopy size, from a single footing. Smaller configurations scale down from there; we'll match the coverage to your space.
Do all canopies rotate independently? Does the Unity tilt?
Every arm has its own ShadowLock rotation with 16 locking positions, so each canopy tracks the sun on its own. It doesn't tilt; each canopy rotates through 360° to follow the sun. If you want a canopy that also tilts, the SU4 is the better fit.
Which base do I need for a Duo vs a Quattro?
All configurations use the Shadowspec Installation Base range, but a Quattro needs a heavier weighted base or a fixed In-Ground Anchor to carry the extra canopy load. We'll match the base to your configuration.
Can I add a rain gutter between canopies?
Yes. The optional Rain Gutter clips between adjoining canopies and channels runoff to the outside edge, keeping the space beneath dry in a shower.
What is the fabric warranty?
10 years on the Sunbrella or Recasens fabric and 6 years on the frame, both for residential use.
Where is the Unity made?
Hand-built in New Zealand under FernMark licence 101031, using marine-grade aluminium and 316 stainless steel hardware rated for Australian coastal conditions.
