A louvre pergola is a roof you can change your mind about. The aluminium blades rotate from fully open for sun and airflow to fully closed, where they interlock and shed rain through gutters built into the frame. It is the difference between an outdoor area you use in fine weather, versus one you use most of the year.

How to choose

Start with how often the space gets used. A pergola over a daily dining area earns a motor, because a roof that takes thirty seconds and a crank handle to move is a roof that stays where it was last left. A pergola over an occasional entertaining area does not; the Mosa saves the cost of running an electrical circuit to the site.

Then look at your weather. Poolside and coastal terraces get sudden rain, often while nobody is home. The V Pro is the only model that closes itself, using wind and rain sensors built into the frame. If your site is sheltered or you are usually there, that feature matters less than the M6's lighting.

Size to the furniture, not to the slab. A 3x3m covers a four-seat setting. A 3x6m covers a long dining table with room to walk behind the chairs. Measure the furniture you intend to put underneath, then add 600mm on each side.

Every pergola is made to order, so allow 60 to 70 days. Before you order we check the size, the mount type and the site access against what you have chosen, because a pergola is not a thing you want to return.

Louvre pergola questions, answered

What is a louvre pergola?

A louvre pergola has a roof made of rotating aluminium blades rather than a fixed sheet. Open them for sun and airflow; close them and the blades interlock into a sealed roof that drains rainwater away through gutters built into the frame.

Are louvre pergolas waterproof when closed?

Yes. The louvres seal against each other when closed, so water runs down the roof into internal gutters concealed in the beams and away through the posts. There is no fabric to perish and nothing pools on top.

Do I need power for a louvre pergola?

Only for the motorised models. The V Pro and M6 both need mains access at the site before install, because the motor and the sensors or lighting draw power. The Mosa is hand cranked, so it needs no electrical work at all.

Should I choose motorised or manual?

Choose manual if the space is used occasionally, or if running power to the site is awkward or expensive. Choose motorised if the area is used daily, or if the roof is high enough that reaching a crank handle is a nuisance. The weather sensors on the V Pro matter most on exposed or poolside sites where rain arrives faster than anyone can react.

Can a louvre pergola attach to the house?

All three models come freestanding on four posts or wall mounted on two, with the wall plate included either way. Wall mounting suits a terrace that already sits against the building; freestanding suits a poolside or garden setting away from the house.

How long does delivery take?

Allow 60 to 70 days from order, because each pergola is made to the size and colour you choose. Delivery is priced by state and shown at checkout, with no forklift required at the site.

Who installs it?

Every model is a two-person install, taking three to six hours depending on the model and size. Many customers use their own builder or handyman; if you would rather we arrange it, call us before you order so the install is quoted with the pergola.

Do louvre pergolas rust?

The frame and louvres are powder-coated aluminium, which is rust-resistant and does not need oiling.

What is a louvre pergola?

Do opening-roof pergolas keep the rain out?
