Buying guide

The best bioethanol fire table

For most courtyards and covered lounges the EcoSmart Fire Base 40 (from $2,595) is the best-value pick, with a 6 kW AB8 burner and a 7 to 9 hour burn; for the longest burn the Cosmo 50 (from $4,495) runs about 8 to 13 hours, and for a warm timber finish choose the Manhattan 50 or Martini 50 (from $2,695).

A fire table brings a real, adjustable flame to the centre of an outdoor room and doubles as a usable surface. Every model here is a bioethanol EcoSmart Fire table, so there is no gas line, no flue and no smoke, soot or ash, which suits courtyards, rooftops and covered lounges, and renters as well as owners.

Cosmo 50Rectangular, 1,270 mmXL900, 4 kW8–13 h$4,495

All burners are Grade 304 stainless. Surrounds are Fluid Concrete (natural, graphite or bone); the Manhattan 50 and Martini 50 also offer teak. AB8 tables hold 8 L and heat about 60 m² on average; the Cosmo 50 holds 9 L for a longer burn at slightly lower output. An optional glass cover plate closes the burner opening into a flat tabletop; see the product page for the plate that fits your model.

Choose by need: best value and everyday courtyards → Fire Base 40; timber finish → Manhattan 50 or Martini 50; longest burn → Cosmo 50; round or square statement piece → Mimosa 40 or Mojito 40.

Frequently asked questions

Tap a question to read the answer.

Are bioethanol fire tables worth it?

Yes, if you want a real flame and a usable surface without a gas line or flue. Every model here is a self-contained bioethanol EcoSmart Fire table with no plumbing, wiring or flue, and an optional glass cover plate turns it into a flat coffee or lounge table when the flame is off, so the piece earns its place year-round.

Are bioethanol fire tables safe?

Yes, when used as directed. Bioethanol burns without smoke, soot or ash, and every model is rated for indoor or outdoor use. Never refuel a hot burner; let it cool for at least 60 minutes, then refill with the supplied jerry can and safety spout. Indoors, fit the Indoor Safety Tray, keep a smoke alarm and extinguisher nearby, and observe the clearances in the installation manual.

What is a bioethanol fire table?

A bioethanol fire table is outdoor (or indoor) furniture with a Grade 304 stainless burner set into a Fluid Concrete or teak surround. It runs on e-NRG bioethanol, so there is no gas connection and no flue, and an optional glass cover plate turns the burner opening into a flat tabletop when the fire is off.

How much does it cost to run a bioethanol fire table?

About $5 to $7 per hour at full flame. e-NRG bioethanol lands at roughly $6.00 to $6.60 per litre in Australia, delivery included. AB8 tables use about 1.1 L per hour at full flame, around $7 per hour; the Cosmo 50 uses about 0.8 L per hour, around $5. A low setting cuts fuel use by about 30 to 50 per cent, and one fill lasts a full evening.

Can you use a bioethanol fire table indoors?

Yes. Every model is rated for indoor or outdoor use because bioethanol burns without smoke, soot or ash. Indoor use requires an Indoor Safety Tray (plus the included Burner Efficiency Ring on AB8 models) to meet the EN 16647 standard, and a minimum room size. Fit a smoke alarm and keep an extinguisher nearby.

How much heat does a bioethanol fire table give off?

Each burner heats roughly 60 m² on average and warms the people seated around it. A fire table is supplemental, zone heating and a focal point, not primary heating for a whole area. In an open setting, treat the warmth as a bonus, and use a fire screen to reduce wind and slow fuel use.

How long does a bioethanol fire table burn on one fill?

About 7 to 9 hours on the AB8 tables (Fire Base 40, Manhattan 50, Martini 50, Mimosa 40, Mojito 40), which hold 8 L. The Cosmo 50 holds 9 L and burns for about 8 to 13 hours, the longest here. Never refuel a hot burner; let it cool for at least 60 minutes, then refill with the supplied jerry can and safety spout.

Does a bioethanol fire table double as a coffee table?

Yes, with the optional glass cover plate. The plate sits over the burner opening to give a single flat surface, so the piece works as a coffee or lounge table when the flame is off. The plate is sold separately and matched to the model, so confirm the correct one on the product page.

Concrete or teak: which surround should you choose?

It is mostly a look. Fluid Concrete comes in natural, graphite or bone for a sleek, weather-resistant finish; teak (on the Manhattan 50 and Martini 50) gives a warmer, natural-timber look. Natural variation and non-structural hairline cracks are inherent to Fluid Concrete, not defects. For timber, choose the Manhattan 50 or Martini 50; the other four are Fluid Concrete only.

Every fire table carries a 2-year warranty, managed by My Acre, with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and free returns.
