Can the Mimosa 40 be used indoors?
Yes, it is rated for indoor or outdoor use. Bioethanol burns to heat, water vapour and carbon dioxide with no smoke, soot or ash, so it runs flueless. For indoor use fit the Indoor Safety Tray and the included AB8 Efficiency Ring, allow a room of at least 116 m³, and keep a smoke alarm and extinguisher to hand.
How large an area does the Mimosa 40 heat?
It produces about 6 kW (21.56 MJ/h) and heats up to 60 m² on average. Treat it as supplemental zone heating and a focal point, not primary heat for a whole house. Actual comfort depends on wind, ceiling height and whether the space is enclosed.
What does the Mimosa 40 cost to run per hour?
At full flame the AB8 burns 1.1 litres per hour. With e-NRG delivered at $6.00 to $6.60 per litre, that is roughly $6.60 to $7.30 per hour. A low flame cuts fuel use by 30 to 50 per cent, to about $3.30 to $5.10 per hour.
Does the Mimosa 40 need professional installation?
No. It is self-contained and portable, with no gas or electrical connection. Position it, level it on its adjustable feet, fill the burner and light it. Outdoors, keep 2,000 mm overhead and 600 mm from fixed objects on a level non-combustible base; it is safe on a timber deck once those clearances are met.
Can the Mimosa 40 double as a coffee table?
Yes. The optional R20 Cover Plate sits over the burner to give a flat, usable surface, so the Mimosa 40 works as a coffee table when there is no flame. The matching R20 Fire Screen and RT40 All-Season Cover are also available.
