Fire fighting pumps
A fire fighting pump moves water from a dam, tank or creek to a hose line when there is no mains pressure. The pumps here are petrol or diesel engine driven, so they work away from a power point. Each is listed with its flow and head so you can match it to your water source and the distance you need to cover.
Check three things before you choose. The head, which is how high and how far the pump can push water. The flow, which is how fast it fills a tank or feeds a hose. The weight, because these pumps run from 24 to 70 kg.
The Bianco Vulcan comes with a 6.5 HP Briggs & Stratton engine or a Honda GX160. Water Master adds a Honda GX200 petrol pump and a Yanmar diesel pump. Hose and fittings are separate, so tell us your set up and we will help you match them. Your local fire authority is the right place to ask what suits your property.
Fire fighting pump questions, answered
What is a fire fighting pump?
It is an engine driven pump that moves water from a dam, tank or creek to a hose line. A petrol or diesel engine drives it, so it works where there is no mains power.
What is the difference between head and flow?
Head is how high and how far the pump can push water. Flow is how much water it moves each minute. A long hose run or a climb needs more head; filling a tank quickly needs more flow.
Does a fire fighting pump come with hose?
The listing describes the pump only. Hose kits are a separate item. Call us with your set up and we will help you choose hose and fittings that suit the outlets.
How is delivery charged for a fire fighting pump?
Delivery for the petrol pumps is a flat rate by state, added at checkout, from $79. The diesel pump is quoted for your address. For NT and remote areas, call us before ordering.
