The owner's insights on the Rain Cap
The reason you'd add this on: an exposed chimney takes the full brunt of rain and salt air. The Rain Cap protects it: a raised galvanised lid on steel rods with a securing chain that shields the top without choking the draw. It fits the Ossa, Hotham and Perisher. Skip it if your chimney sits fully under cover; for an open or coastal site we'd recommend it or the lower profile Top Cap.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a rain cap if my chimney is under cover?
If the chimney is fully under cover and rain can't reach the opening, a cap is optional. For open outdoor installs we'd recommend either the Rain Cap or the Top Cap, depending on the look you want.
Will it affect how the fire draws?
No. The raised lid sheds weather while leaving a clear path for the flue to draw, so the fireplace lights and runs as normal.
Rain Cap or Top Cap, which suits my install?
The Rain Cap is the protective galvanised steel option that sheds weather. The Top Cap is the lower profile concrete finishing piece. Call us if you'd like a recommendation for your site.
