Oase · Pond Pumps

The owner's insights on the AquaMax Eco Titanium Gravity Filter Pump

A gravity-fed pond works the opposite way to most. Water drains by gravity from the bottom of the pond into the filter. The pump sits after it and returns clean water. That job needs a pump that moves a great deal of water with very little lift. The AquaMax Eco Titanium does exactly that, from 33,000 to 81,000 litres an hour.

The housing is stainless steel, cast on the new 33000. The larger 51000 and 81000 use silicon carbide ceramic for the rotor shaft and bearings. Oase rate all three for salt and chlorinated water, so they suit swimming ponds and natural pools as well as koi ponds.

It is the wrong pump for a pond without bottom drains. If your filter sits beside the pond and a pump pushes water up to it, you want head, not volume. The AquaMax Eco Expert is the better choice.

Set it in a pump chamber beside the filter, where the quiet running makes it easy to live with. Tell us the filter and the pond volume before you order. We will confirm the size with you.

Why you'll love the AquaMax Eco Titanium Gravity Filter Pump

Huge volume for little power

The 33000 moves up to 33,000 l/h drawing no more than 145 W.

A stainless steel housing, rated for salt and chlorinated water.

Made for the pump chamber

Designed to sit after a gravity filter, submerged or dry installed.

Flow you can set

Electronic adjustment matches output to the filter and the season.

Room to grow

Three sizes, up to 81,000 l/h, cover a koi pond through to a large swimming pond.

Why you should consider an Oase pond pump

Oase is a German company that has engineered pond and water equipment since 1949. The AquaMax Eco Titanium is made in Germany. In Australia it is supplied by Aquatec Equipment, part of the Oase Group. Order through My Acre and we will beat any genuine like-for-like price you find elsewhere. If a warranty question ever comes up, you are calling us directly, not an overseas call centre.

Talk it through before you order

Tell us the filter model and the pond volume. We will confirm the right size. If your pond is pump-fed rather than gravity-fed, we will point you to the pump that suits it.

Work out whether this is your pump, then which size

Step one: is yours a gravity-fed system?

Your setup Is Titanium right? Why
Bottom drain feeding a filter beside the pond, water returning by gravity Yes, this is what it is built for High volume at low head is exactly this job
A pump in the pond pushing up to a filter Usually not An AquaMax Eco Premium or Expert costs less for the same result
A tall waterfall No Maximum head here is 3.5 to 5.5 m; flow drops away quickly as head rises
Salt or chlorinated water Yes The stainless housing is rated for fresh, salt and chlorinated water

Step two: match the flow to the filter, not the pond

  1. 1. Find your filter maximum flow, in litres per hour. That number caps the pump, not the other way round.
  2. 2. On a koi system, most builders turn the pond over roughly once every one to two hours.
  3. 3. Pick the model whose flow sits at, or a little under, the filter rating: 33,000, 51,000 or 81,000 l/h.
  4. 4. Check the head: 3.5 m on the 33000, 4.0 m on the 51000, 5.5 m on the 81000. Gravity systems rarely need more.

Step three: where will it sit?

Installation Possible? Note
Submerged in a pump chamber Yes The usual arrangement on a gravity system
Dry, outside the water Yes Every model runs dry-mounted as well
Connections G 2 ½ on the 33000, G 3 on the 51000 and 81000 Match your pipework before you order

What it costs to run

Model Draw Per day at 24 h Per year
AquaMax Eco Titanium 33000 30 to 145 W $0.22 to $1.04 $79 to $381
AquaMax Eco Titanium 51000 70 to 320 W $0.50 to $2.30 $184 to $841
AquaMax Eco Titanium 81000 100 to 730 W $0.72 to $5.26 $263 to $1,918

Worked at 30c per kWh running 24 hours a day, which is our assumption rather than a manufacturer figure. Put your own tariff against the wattage and the sums are the same.

A gravity system runs continuously, so this is the number that matters over a decade. All three are variable speed: the low figure is a quiet winter setting, the high one is full summer load.

What to measure before you decide

  • Your filter make, model and its maximum flow in litres per hour.
  • Pipe size at the pump position, against G 2 ½ or G 3.
  • Vertical rise from water surface to the filter inlet, in metres.
  • Whether the pump sits submerged or dry.
  • Water type: fresh, salt or chlorinated, all of which these handle.

Filter rating first, then pipe size. If you would rather have it checked, send us your filter model and pipe diameter. We will confirm the pump.

Frequently asked questions

What is a gravity filter pump?

In a gravity-fed system the pond water flows by gravity from bottom drains into the filter. The pump sits after the filter in a pump chamber. It returns clean water to the pond. That means the pump moves a lot of water with little lift, which is what the Titanium is built for.

Which size do I need?

Match it to your filter. A ProfiClear Premium DF-L gravity-fed handles up to 33,000 l/h, which suits the 33000. Larger filter systems and swimming ponds step up to the 51000 or 81000. Send us the filter model and pond volume. We will confirm it.

Can it go in salt or chlorinated water?

Yes. Oase rate the AquaMax Eco Titanium for salt and chlorinated water, which is why it suits swimming ponds and natural pools.

Can it run out of the water?

Yes. It can run submerged or dry installed. Oase design it to sit in a pump chamber.

How much power does it use?

The 33000 draws 30 to 145 W, the 51000 draws 70 to 320 W and the 81000 draws 100 to 730 W, depending on how far the flow is turned up. Oase say the 33000 uses up to 20% less energy than the model before it.

What does the warranty cover?

Oase give 3 years, plus a further 2 years when you register the pump with Oase. You call My Acre and we handle the claim with Aquatec, the Australian distributor.

Review of Polito pizza ovens

I recently bought a Polito pizza oven from my acre. I was looking to replace an older outdated oven in my outdoor kitchen, which had started to fall apart after a few years cooking for the Boiz. I wasn't super stoked at first to spend this much on a pizza oven, but suppliers in NSW are hard to come by and Hayden was super helpful with organising getting it to me. I certainly wasn't upset when it arrived! I dont think I'll have to replace it any time soon

Thankyou so much for the purchase & nice words Phil! So glad we could help!
