If your pond turns pea green every summer, the filter is not failing. Green water is free-floating algae, too small for any filter to catch. A UV clarifier passes the water past a UVC lamp that breaks the algae down. The filter then collects what is left. The water clears.
This listing covers the whole Oase range. Vitronic is the entry point for garden ponds up to 60 m³. Bitron C adds a rotor that wipes the quartz tube as water flows, so the lamp keeps working between services. Bitron Eco adds an automatic bypass and a display. Bitron Premium is a gravity-fed unit for ponds up to 280 m³.
A UV clarifier does not replace a filter. It works with one. If your water is cloudy brown rather than green, the problem is usually filtration or waste. A better filter will do more than a bigger lamp.
Size it by pond volume and by the fish in it: koi need about four times the UVC of a pond with no fish. Tell us the volume, the fish and the pump flow. We will match the model to it.

Step one: pond volume, then halve it for fish
- 1. Length times width times average depth, in metres, gives cubic metres. One cubic metre is 1,000 litres.
- 2. No fish: read the first column below. Goldfish or similar: the second. Koi: the third.
- 3. Koi quarter the rating, because they produce the most waste and stir the bottom constantly.

Step three: check it against your pump, not only your pond
- Find your pump flow in litres per hour, printed on the pump or its box.
- The clarifier has to sit inside the flow range above. Too fast and the water passes the lamp without enough exposure.
- Check the hose diameter matches: 19 to 38 mm on the Vitronic range, up to 50 mm inlets on the Bitron.
- If the system is gravity-fed rather than pumped, say so, because that changes which Bitron suits.

Why is my pond green?
Green water is free-floating algae, too small for a filter to catch. A UV clarifier passes the water past a UVC lamp, which breaks down the algae cells. The filter then removes what is left.
Which size do I need?
Size it to the pond volume and the fish in it. Oase rate each model three ways: a pond with no fish, a pond with fish and a koi pond. Koi need the most. A 36 W unit, for example, suits a pond to 40 m³ or a koi pond to 10 m³.
Vitronic or Bitron?
Vitronic is the entry range and suits most garden ponds to 60 m³. Bitron C adds a self-cleaning rotor that keeps the quartz tube clear, so the lamp stays effective between services. Bitron Eco adds an automatic bypass and a display. Bitron Premium is for large gravity-fed ponds.
Where does it go?
Vitronic and Bitron C fit in the hose between the pond pump and the filter. Bitron Premium is gravity-fed with DN 110 connections and can sit before or after a ProfiClear filter.
Is it safe to open?
Bitron models are designed so the UVC light cannot damage your eyes. On Bitron C a safety switch turns the lamp off when the housing is opened.
How often does the lamp need replacing?
UVC lamps are wear parts and lose strength with use. The Bitron Eco counts lamp hours to 12,000 and shows the status on its display. Tell us your model and we will supply the right replacement.
