The owner's insights on the Oase AquaMax Eco Pond Pump
This is the pump most garden and fish ponds need. It pushes water to the filter and back over a stream or waterfall, all day and all night. That is why the running cost matters more than the purchase price.
Eco Classic is the value range, from 2,600 to 17,400 litres an hour with an energy-efficient motor and the fittings in the box. Eco Premium is the one to choose if the pond runs year round. Its CORE 6 motor adjusts flow with the season. It lifts water higher for the same size and connects to the OASE Control app.
For a koi pond with a drum filter, or a waterfall with real height, step up to the AquaMax Eco Expert. For a swimming pond or natural pool, the 12 V Eco Premium models run on low voltage.

Why you should consider an Oase pond pump

Step one: what is the pump actually feeding?

Step two: work out the head, which is what most people miss
- 1. Measure the vertical rise from the water surface to the outlet, in metres. That is static head.
- 2. Add roughly 10% of the hose length as friction. A 10 m hose run adds about 1 m of head.
- 3. Narrow hose costs you more. If you are using 25 mm where the pump takes 38 mm, expect to lose more again.
- 4. Now read the table: you need a pump whose max head comfortably beats your number, since flow falls away as head rises.

Premium models draw as little as 10 W turned down, against a fixed 23 W and up on the Classic. Running cost over a decade often outweighs the purchase gap.

Worked at 30c per kWh running 24 hours a day, which is our assumption rather than a manufacturer figure. Put your own tariff against the wattage and the sums are the same.
That spread is the whole argument for the Premium range. A Classic draws the same watts every hour it runs. A Premium turned down overnight, or through the cooler months, draws a fraction of its peak. Over ten years the difference usually outruns the price gap.
What to measure before you decide
- Pond volume in litres, for the filter turnover.
- Weir width in centimetres, if it feeds a waterfall.
- Vertical rise from water surface to outlet, in metres.
- Hose length and internal diameter.
- Whether you want to vary the speed, which only the Premium models do.
- Solids handling: 8 mm on the Classic, 11 mm on the Premium, which matters on a leafy pond.

Frequently asked questions
Eco Classic or Eco Premium?
Eco Classic is the value range with a fixed output. Eco Premium uses a newer CORE 6 motor, adjusts its flow with the season to save power and connects to the OASE Control app. It also lifts water higher for the same flow, which matters on a waterfall.
Which size do I need?
Start with the filter. Most filters have a flow range. The pump should sit inside it. Then allow for height: the higher the water lifts, the less flow you get. Tell us the filter and the lift. We will pick the model with you.
What does the model number mean?
It is close to the maximum flow in litres per hour at zero lift. The spec table shows the true maximum and the head for each model.
Can it run out of the water?
Yes. Every model can run submerged in the pond or dry installed in a pump chamber.
When would I choose 12 V?
For a swimming pond or natural pool, where low voltage is the safer choice. The 12 V models also have a second connection for extra filter accessories.
What does the warranty cover?
Oase give 3 years, plus a further 2 years when you register the pump with Oase. You call My Acre and we handle the claim with Aquatec, the Australian distributor.
