A pressure filter is the easiest way to get clear water in a garden pond. The pump pushes water through a sealed canister, where sponges catch the dirt and a UVC lamp deals with the algae that turn water green. Because it stays under pressure, the clean water can still run uphill to a stream or waterfall.
BioPress Set is the complete answer for a small pond: pump, filter, UVC and hose in one box for ponds up to 10 m³. FiltoClear is the filter on its own for ponds up to 31 m³, with a stronger UVC lamp. Its controls sit in the lid, so the body can be buried out of sight.
It is not a koi filter. Koi produce far more waste. A pressure filter this size will struggle. For koi, look at a BioTec flow-through filter or a ProfiClear drum filter.

Step one: find your pond volume
- 1. Length times width times average depth, in metres, gives cubic metres. One cubic metre is 1,000 litres.
- 2. The number in each model name is the largest pond in litres with no fish in it.
- 3. With fish, halve it. That single step is where most undersized filters come from.

What to measure before you decide
- Pond volume in cubic metres.
- Fish: none, a few goldfish, or koi. This halves or rules out sizes.
- Height from the filter to the top of the waterfall, if it feeds one. Pressure filters can push uphill, which gravity filters cannot.
- Whether you want the filter hidden. FiltoClear buries with only the lid showing.
- Whether you already own a pump, plus its flow rate in litres per hour.

What is a pressure filter?
A sealed filter that the pump pushes water through. Because it stays under pressure, the clean water can travel uphill to a stream or waterfall. A gravity or flow-through filter has to sit above the pond instead.
BioPress Set or FiltoClear?
BioPress Set is a complete starter kit for a small pond, with the pump, filter, UVC and hose in one box. FiltoClear is the filter alone, for ponds up to 31 m³. Pair it with an AquaMax Eco pump sized to the model.
Which size do I need?
Size it by pond volume and fish. The number in the model is the largest pond in litres with no fish. With fish, halve it. For koi, choose a flow-through or drum filter instead.
How do I clean it?
Both clean from the lid without taking the filter apart. FiltoClear uses a handle to work the sponges and a 2-way valve to send the dirty water to waste rather than back into the pond.
Can I hide it?
Yes. FiltoClear has all its controls in the lid, so the housing can be buried with only the lid showing.
What does the warranty cover?
Oase give 2 years on BioPress Sets. FiltoClear has 2 years, plus 1 on registration with Oase. UVC lamps are wear parts. You call My Acre and we handle the claim with Aquatec.
