EcoSmart Stix Fire Pit
Portable, heats up to 20m², 8 to 11 hrs.
A tall sculptural bioethanol fire pit for design-led terraces, courtyards and pool decks
Perfect for design-led terraces and pool decks, the EcoSmart Stix is a 780 mm sculptural bioethanol fire pit with no gas line or flue.
Designed by Hiroshi Tsunoda, the Stix reads as sculpture as much as a heater. Its 2 kW AB3 burner runs 8 to 11 hours on a 2.5 L fill, and multiple units group into a line of fire along a pool edge.
- Design-led terraces and pool decks
- Considered courtyards and rooftop lounges
- Grouped as two or three for a line of fire
- Portable, no fixed installation

Award-winning Hiroshi Tsunoda design
Winner: Good Design Award 2011, DesignEx Best New Product, and the IIDA/HD Award for Excellence.
Two considered finishes
Brushed Grade 304 stainless to read bright. Black powder-coated Grade 202 to recede into a dark setting.
A closer look

Installed at Longitude 131 overlooking Uluru
At Longitude 131, the luxury desert camp near Uluru, a pair sit beside the plunge pool with teak lounge chairs, holding their own against the landscape.
In quieter settings the same silhouette anchors a courtyard corner or rooftop lounge, never reading as hardware.

Groups into a line of fire
The tubular geometry rewards multiplication. Two units flank a doorway; three run as a line of fire along a pool edge. Each still reads as a sculptural pattern, not a row of heaters.
Freestanding, so you can rearrange the grouping for a dinner, a birthday, or a quiet evening for two.
Good to know before you buy
- Fuel is e-NRG bioethanol. Sold separately at around $6 to $6.60 per litre delivered. The AB3 burner uses about 0.31 L per hour on full flame.
- About $2 an hour on full flame. Closer to $1 on a low setting. A 2.5 L fill costs $15 to $16.50 delivered and runs 8 to 11 hours.
- Indoor or outdoor. Outdoors, allow 2,000 mm above the flame and 600 mm from fixed objects. Indoors, a room of at least 40 m³ with ventilation, we'll confirm it suits your space.
- Truly portable. No gas, plumbing or power. Two people move the 23.14 kg Stix between spaces, or reshuffle a group for the occasion.

Fitting it in
The Stix stands 780 mm tall in a circle of stainless tubes 556 mm across, so it takes almost no floor space. At 23.14 kg two people lift it easily; one careful adult can walk it to a new spot.
Outdoors, allow 2,000 mm above the flame and 600 mm from fixed objects, on a level non-combustible base.
No gas, plumbing or power to plan around. A single Stix moves between deck, courtyard and lawn. Group two or three along a pool edge, then break them apart for a quiet night.
Fill the AB3 burner and light it with the included Lighting Rod. The flame settles in seconds.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the Stix designed to work best?
Design-led terraces, pool decks and considered courtyards. Its tall tubular silhouette reads as sculpture, not hardware. At 556 mm across and 780 mm tall it takes almost no floor space, and grouped as two or three it defines a fire feature line along a terrace.
Can the Stix be used indoors?
Yes. The Stix runs the same clean AB3 bioethanol burner suited to indoor or outdoor use. Indoors, you'll need a room of at least 40 m³ for ventilation; call us on 1300 515 620 and we'll confirm it suits your space.
How much space does the Stix heat?
The AB3 burner is 2 kW (6.12 MJ/h) and warms about 20 m². Focal-point warmth for a small conversation zone, not a primary heater. For broader coverage, step up to the Pod 30 with the 6 kW AB8 burner.
What does the Stix cost to run per hour?
The AB3 uses about 0.31 L per hour on full flame. At $6.00 to $6.60 per litre delivered, that's around $2 an hour on full, closer to $1 on low. A 2.5 L fill costs $15 to $16.50 and runs 8 to 11 hours.
Does the Stix need professional installation or a gas connection?
No. The Stix is freestanding with no gas, plumbing or electrical connection. Set it on a level non-combustible base, fill the AB3 burner and light it with the included Lighting Rod. Allow 2,000 mm above the flame and 600 mm from fixed objects outdoors. Never refuel while hot; allow at least 60 minutes to cool.
Can multiple Stix units be grouped together?
Yes. The design rewards it. Two units flank a doorway; three run as a line of fire along a pool edge. The tubular geometry reads as a sculptural pattern, not a row of heaters. Freestanding at 23.14 kg, so you can rearrange the layout for any occasion.
What is the difference between the two variants?
Same silhouette, AB3 burner and specifications on both. Stainless Steel is brushed Grade 304 with a stainless burner, reading bright against dark stone or timber. Black is Grade 202 with a powder coating and ceramic-coated burner, receding into a dark tiled setting. Stainless $1,995, Black $1,795.
Does it come with fuel?
No. e-NRG bioethanol is sold separately in 20 L cartons of four 5 L bottles. Add a carton to your order and we ship it with the pit. Delivery is free on all EcoSmart orders Australia wide.
