Can the Pod 30 be used indoors?
Yes. Bioethanol burns cleanly with no smoke, soot or ash, so the Pod 30 runs flueless indoors as well as outdoors. Indoor use needs a minimum room volume of 116 m³, with the Indoor Safety Tray plus the included AB8 Efficiency Ring fitted to meet EN 16647. No gas line or chimney is required.
How much space does the Pod 30 heat?
The AB8 burner produces 6 kW (21.56 MJ/h) and heats an average of 60 m². It is a supplemental heat source and focal point for an outdoor gathering, not a primary whole-home heater.
How long does one fill last?
The AB8 holds 8 litres of e-NRG bioethanol. At full flame that gives about 7 to 9 hours of burn; on a lower setting EcoSmart quotes up to around 11 hours from the same fill.
What does a Pod 30 cost to run per hour?
At full flame the AB8 uses about 1.1 L/hr. With e-NRG at $6.00 to $6.60 per litre delivered, that is roughly $6.60 to $7.30 per hour, dropping to about $3.30 to $5.10 per hour on a lower setting.
Does the Pod 30 need professional installation or a gas connection?
No. The Pod 30 is freestanding with no gas, plumbing or electrical connection. Level it on its 360-degree articulating feet, fill the AB8 burner and light it; it can be repositioned at any time. Outdoors, allow 2,000 mm clearance above and 600 mm from fixed objects on a level non-combustible base.
