Can the Linear 50 be used indoors?
Yes, with the correct variant selected at purchase. Indoors it burns flueless with no smoke, soot or ash, but needs a minimum room volume of 110 m³ and the additional indoor-compliance parts EcoSmart specifies to meet EN 16647. A working smoke alarm and extinguisher are recommended.
How much space does the Linear 50 heat?
The Linear 50 produces 4 kW (15.83 MJ/h) and heats around 60 m² on average. Treat it as zone or supplemental heating and a focal point for nearby seating, not primary heating for a whole home.
What does the Linear 50 cost to run?
At full flame the XL900 uses about 0.8 L/hr. With e-NRG at $6.00 to $6.60 per litre delivered, that is roughly $5 per hour, or about $15 to $20 for a typical evening. A low-flame setting cuts fuel and cost by 30 to 50 per cent.
How is the Linear 50 installed?
It is a drop-in kit, not freestanding. The tray sets into a cut-out in a non-combustible surround such as concrete, stone, porcelain, brick or tile. Outdoors, standard EcoSmart clearances apply: 2,000 mm overhead, 600 mm from fixed objects, a level base and a 12.5 mm air gap. No gas, plumbing or electrical connection is needed.
Which screen and cover fit the Linear 50?
The matching accessories are the L50 Fire Screen (L1080), which steadies the flame in wind, the L50 Cover Plate, which converts the burner well into a flat surface, and the XL900 Silicone Burner Cover for storage.
