The owner's insights on the Linear 50
The Linear 50 is the shortest of EcoSmart's linear kits, built around a single XL900 burner in a 1,196 mm housing. It's the one we spec when a client wants a ribbon of flame across a bench or wall, not a fire pit dropped into the middle of a space.
The XL900 puts out 4.4 kW and holds 9.1 L, enough to run 8 to 13 hours on a fill. It heats a genuine zone, a lounge setting or dining table, rather than trying to warm the whole yard, and it drops into a poured concrete or steel surround with nothing to wire and nothing to plumb.
If your bench or wall run is wider than about 1.2 m, the 1,196 mm housing will look short for the space; step up to the Linear 65. And if you're building a compact square fire pit rather than a long bench, the Square 22's AB8 burner suits that shape better than a linear ribbon ever will.
It's worth being clear this is a burner kit, not a finished fireplace: the concrete or masonry surround is your build or your landscaper's, and the bioethanol fuel is sold separately.
Why you'll love the Linear 50
A 1,196 mm ribbon of flame
The XL900 gives you a linear flame that reads as a considered architectural element, not a fire pit dropped into a bench.
4.4 kW of clean heat
4.4 kW (15.8 MJ/h) warms up to 60 m² outdoors, real zone heat for a lounge or dining space, without a flue or gas plumbing.
Indoor or outdoor rated
Fit the Indoor Safety Tray and the Linear 50 becomes an interior fire feature, suited to a hotel lobby, bar back or sunken lounge.
No trades to book
No gas, no flue, no electrical work. A landscaper drops it into the surround in an afternoon.
8 to 13 hours on a single fill
The 9.1 L tank runs the XL900 for a full evening at around 0.7 to 1.1 L an hour on full flame, roughly $4.20 to $7.30 an hour to run.
Why you should consider an EcoSmart Fire fire pit kit
Every EcoSmart burner is certified to UL 1370 and EN 16647 BSI, with ACCC Safety Mandate compliance built in, and the Linear 50 burns clean e-NRG bioethanol with no smoke and no soot to manage; fit the Indoor Safety Tray and the same kit is rated for indoor use too. Buy yours through My Acre and we'll beat any genuine like-for-like price you find elsewhere. Delivery is free Australia wide. Fitting the Linear 50 in
The housing measures about 1,196 mm x 432 mm overall; the cutout itself follows the installation manual, so confirm the aperture with us before you set your surround out. At around 31.4 kg, one person can set it in place. There's no gas, plumbing or electrical work involved. Outdoors, leave 1,000 mm clear of combustibles above the burner. Indoors, fit the Indoor Safety Tray in a room of at least 110 m³ with ventilation.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Linear 50 a complete fire pit?
No. It is a drop-in burner kit for a surround that you or your landscaper build. You receive the burner, safety housing, media and lighting tools.
What surround materials can I use?
Any non-combustible material: cast concrete, masonry, tile-clad steel or corten. Leave the aperture given in the installation manual, with 1,000 mm clear above of combustibles.
How long does one fill last?
The XL900 holds 9.1 L and runs 8 to 13 hours per fill at about 0.7 to 1.1 L per hour on full flame. A lower flame stretches it further.
Can I install it indoors?
Yes, with the Indoor Safety Tray fitted, in a room of at least 110 m³ with ventilation.
Does it need gas or a flue?
No. Self-contained bioethanol. Fill, light, enjoy.
Which fire screen and cover plate fit the Linear 50?
The L50 Fire Screen (L1080) and L50 Cover Plate. Both drop over the burner opening under their own weight.
