The pizza insert slides in over the coals whenever you want it.
The owner's insights on the Carmen
The Carmen is Buschbeck's limited edition model: natural grey concrete with a terracotta base and mantle. Buschbeck sell it while stocks last, so it will not be in the range for ever.
It has the same arched chimney and the same 203 by 110 by 65 cm footprint as the St Moritz. What changes is the colour. It is also the lowest price way into a full size Buschbeck.
Underneath it is the same double skinned build as the rest of the range. Charcoal to cook, then logs once everyone has settled in.
It arrives palletised in sections, so plan for two to three people and about an hour to put it together.

Why you'll love the Carmen
Grey and terracotta
Natural grey concrete with a terracotta base and mantle. A warmer, earthier look than the white models.
Stays cool to touch
The twin skin build lets air circulate around the firebox, so the outer wall stays cool enough to touch.
Burns what you've got
Charcoal for a quick sear tonight, logs once you're settled in for the evening.
Pizza-ready when you are
Buschbeck's pizza insert suits every model. Add it now or next summer.
Four cooking heights
The chrome grill sits at any of four heights, so you can sear hot or cook slow.
Little to look after
No painting or plastering. If it weathers more than you like, a jet wash brings it back.
Why you should consider a Buschbeck outdoor fireplace
Buschbeck precast their fireplaces in their own factory in Waldbröl, Germany. The quartzite concrete formula is unique to the brand; every component is steel-reinforced, with no painting or plastering needed.

Frequently asked questions
How is the Carmen different from the St Moritz?
Both have the arched chimney and the same 203 by 110 by 65 cm footprint. The Carmen is natural grey concrete with a terracotta base and mantle, where the St Moritz is white and brown with a real copper mantle insert. Buschbeck list the Carmen as a limited edition, while stocks last.
Can I add the pizza oven insert?
Yes. Buschbeck list their pizza oven insert as suitable for every Buschbeck model. It is sold separately for $399 and slides in over the coals whenever you want to bake.
Does the Carmen need a flue?
Not out in the open. Buschbeck say it can go under a covered area only if a flue is fitted to run through the roof. Talk to us about your clearance before you order.
How many people do you need to assemble it?
Buschbeck recommend two to three people for around an hour. It arrives in roughly ten sections and the heaviest piece is about 80 kg.
What fuel does the Carmen burn?
Charcoal, as briquettes or lump wood, for barbecuing. Logs and firewood once you want it as a fireplace. The double skinned construction handles both.
Is the Carmen covered by a warranty?
Yes. Buschbeck's warranty runs for 2 years from purchase. It covers major structural defects from manufacture that stop the fireplace being used as intended. It excludes damage from excessive heat, overloading and normal wear and tear. If anything needs attention, you deal with My Acre directly rather than an overseas call centre.
Is it normal for small cracks to appear?
Yes. Buschbeck say small hairline cracks are normal and non-structural. They open slightly when the fire is hot and close again as it cools, without affecting how it works. Buschbeck recommend a cover through autumn and winter to keep water out.
Where does the pallet get left?
At your address. It comes on one shrink-wrapped pallet of around ten sections, up to 600 kg in total. The carrier is not obliged to move it any closer to where it will stand, so line up two or three people to carry the pieces into place.
