How My Acre collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

We collect what we need to run your order, deliver it, support you afterwards, and improve our service. We never sell your information. You can request your data, correct it, or delete it any time at info@myacre.com.au.

This policy explains how My Acre collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit myacre.com.au, buy a piece, apply for a trade account, sign up for marketing or contact us. It is written in plain language and structured so you can find what you need quickly. The Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) frame the approach.

Who we are

My Acre is an owner-operated specialist stockist for premium outdoor living across Australia, operated by Hayden Pearson and Tim Jagger as joint controllers of personal information collected via myacre.com.au. We operate across Melbourne, Sydney and regional New South Wales, with no physical retail showroom.

Any reference to we, us or our in this policy means My Acre. References to you or your mean the person whose information we are describing. Hayden is the primary point of contact for any privacy question on 1300 515 620 or info@myacre.com.au.

What information we collect

The categories of information we collect, and where each comes from.

  • Contact details (name, email, phone, delivery address), from your order, contact form or trade application.
  • Order and payment details (items, addresses, transaction identifiers). Payment is processed by Shopify; we do not store full credit card numbers.
  • Communication preferences (email signup, marketing consent), from the moment you opt in.
  • Website usage data (pages visited, device type, IP address), via Google Analytics 4 and cookies.
  • Advertising interaction data, via Google Ads and Meta tracking pixels.
  • Trade applicant details (ABN, practice name, project type, expected annual project volume), via the Trade Account application.

How we use your information

We use the information above for the following purposes.

  • Fulfilling orders. Sharing your delivery address with the relevant vendor or courier so the piece arrives.
  • Communicating about your order. Confirmations, tracking, and delivery updates.
  • Customer support. Responding to questions, returns, and warranty claims.
  • Marketing communications. Only with your consent. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link.
  • Improving our website and service. Aggregate analytics, not individual tracking.
  • Trade account management. Qualification, agreement renewal, and ongoing partnership.

Who we share your information with

The following processors and recipients each handle a specific category of information for the purpose noted. We do not share information with anyone else.

Section 5

How we store and protect your data

Your information is stored on secure Shopify servers, encrypted in transit and at rest. Administrative accounts use two-factor authentication. Internal access is limited to Hayden and Tim.

Data retention. We keep your information while you are an active customer and for a reasonable period afterwards. Records required for accounting purposes are retained for seven years under Australian Taxation Office requirements, then deleted. Marketing subscribers can withdraw consent at any time, and their record is removed from the active marketing list immediately. Trade applicant information is retained for the duration of the account plus the same accounting period.

Ask us to delete your personal information. Some records, such as tax and order documentation, are retained where Australian law requires.

Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. Every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link.

Make a complaint

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, contact us first. If unresolved, you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Cookies and tracking

Our site uses cookies for three purposes.

  • Essential cookies. Cart, login and checkout. These are required for the site to function and cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies. Google Analytics 4. Optional, controlled via the cookie banner.
  • Advertising cookies. Google Ads and Meta. Optional, controlled via the cookie banner.

You can also manage cookies via your browser settings. Disabling analytics or advertising cookies will not affect your ability to use the site or place an order.

International transfers

Some of our processors store data on servers outside Australia, typically the United States and Europe. Shopify, Google, Meta and Klaviyo each maintain data handling standards aligned with the Australian Privacy Act. We do not directly transfer data overseas ourselves; transfers occur via these providers as part of their standard operations.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email if you are subscribed, or by a banner on the site. The last updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
