Waratah Copper Outdoor Shower
Slimline copper, hot & cold, made to order.
Slim Hot and Cold Copper Outdoor Shower for Tight Coastal Spaces
The Bespoke Copper Waratah is a slimline hot and cold outdoor shower, hand-built from solid copper and brass around a custom-soldered breaching piece. Sized to sit neatly on a 90 mm timber post or a wall, it suits architectural courtyards, poolside corners and coastal homes where a full saddle mount would read too heavy. Made to order, polished and pressure-tested by a licensed plumber. Shower head chosen separately.
Perfect For
- Narrow courtyard rinse stations where a saddle-mount shower would crowd the space
- Post-mounted poolside showers on a standard 90 mm timber post
- Coastal homes wanting a copper feature that develops a natural patina over time
- Architect-designed bathrooms using a hot and cold copper shower as a sculptural element
Why You'll Love This
True Hot and Cold From a Slim Profile
A hand-soldered breaching piece brings the hot and cold feeds together at the top, then drops a single 980 mm copper riser down the post or wall. You keep the comfort of mixed-temperature outdoor showering without the visual bulk of a separate twin-pipe installation.
Sized for a 90 mm Post, Not Improvised Onto One
The breaching piece is built at 285 mm high by 360 mm wide to land cleanly on a 90 mm timber post. For walls or wider 120 mm-plus posts, the build is adjusted at the workshop, so the proportions stay considered rather than retrofitted.
Real Copper That Ages Into the Setting
Made from solid copper and brass, not plated. Left outdoors it develops a soft brown patina, then a deeper verdigris as it weathers. Polished with a wax sealer at dispatch, with the option to maintain the polish or let the copper move with the garden.
Made and Tested by a Licensed Plumber
Every Waratah is welded, hand-soldered, polished and pressure-tested before it leaves the workshop. Lead time is 5 to 7 business days from order. You receive a shower kit that is ready to be plumbed in by a licensed installer on site.
Features
Custom-Soldered Breaching Piece
The breaching piece is the heart of the Waratah. Hand-soldered from copper at 285 mm high and 360 mm wide, it joins the two 3/4 inch feed pipes and feeds a single riser. The geometry keeps the front profile flat against the post.
Twin 3/4 Inch Copper Feed Pipes
Two 980 mm lengths of 3/4 inch copper run up to the breaching piece, ready for the plumber to connect to the wall stubs at rough-in. Copper throughout means no mixed-metal corrosion at the joins.
980 mm Copper Riser and 500 mm Drop
A 980 mm vertical copper riser carries water up from the breaching piece, then a welded 3/4 inch drop brings the shower rose 500 mm forward to centre. The drop is sized so a 200 mm or 240 mm rose sits at a comfortable head height for an adult.
Polished and Pressure-Tested Finish
Each kit is polished to a warm copper finish and pressure-tested for leaks before it ships. A light wax sealer is applied to slow the initial patina if you want to keep the polish for the first season.
Configurable at the Workshop
Handles, mounting bracket type, post size and optional foot tap are configured at order. The standard build is handle-side, 90 mm post, copper saddle kit. Configurations beyond standard are confirmed by phone before the build starts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will the Waratah fit my post?
A: The standard build is sized for a 90 mm timber post. If you are fixing to a wall, or to a wider 120 mm-plus post, choose that option at order and the breaching piece is adjusted to suit. The timber post itself is not supplied.
Q: Does the Waratah include a shower head?
A: No, the head is chosen separately so you can match a 200 mm or 240 mm copper or brass rose to the rest of the setting. The 3/4 inch welded drop accepts any standard 1/2 inch BSP rose with a reducer, and accepts a 3/4 inch rose directly.
Q: Is the shower actually hot and cold?
A: Yes. The hand-soldered breaching piece joins the hot and cold feeds at the top of the riser, so what comes out of the rose is a true mixed-temperature stream, not cold-only.
Q: Who should install it, and when should I order?
A: A licensed plumber. Order the Waratah before the plumber roughs in the wall or post, so the rough-in points can be set to the kit. Having the kit on site means the feeds and stubs land where the breaching piece sits, rather than the kit being trimmed to fit.
Q: Will it patina in a coastal setting?
A: Yes, and faster than inland. Salt air accelerates the soft brown stage and brings out the verdigris within the first 12 to 18 months. If you prefer to keep the polish, an annual wax sealer maintains the original finish.
Q: Does the price include the foot tap or extra mounting brackets?
A: The listed price is the standard kit (breaching piece, feeds, riser, drop, saddle mount). A foot tap and custom brass stand-off brackets are configured at order and quoted before the build begins. Call 1300 515 620 to confirm before purchase.
