Trendz Douglas Concrete Outdoor Fireplace
Traditional silhouette, plastered or clad to suit your home.

The owner's insights on the Douglas
The Douglas has the silhouette most people picture when they think of an outdoor fireplace: a stepped concrete chimney rising from a broad firebox. It suits Hamptons, coastal and traditional homes where a steel flue would look out of place.
It arrives as a single precast concrete piece in bare concrete, which makes it a blank canvas. Have it plastered and painted in any colour at the Trendz factory, or clad on site in schist, river stone or brick to match your landscaping.
At 1,500 kg it is lifted into place by hiab, so the install needs planning. We measure your site with you first, from the pad and the clearances to where the truck can park, whether you order online or call us before you decide.
If you want a sharper, more modern outline, the Hudson swaps the stepped chimney for a tall square column.
Talk to the owner before you order
Tell Hayden where it is going. He works out how it gets there (the pad, the clearances, the truck and the lift) and quotes the whole job first, so you decide once you know the full cost.
Why you'll love the Douglas
A classic chimney in one piece
The stepped concrete chimney rises to 2,600 mm and arrives pre-built, ready for the hiab.
Heat where you sit
Top and back baffles in the 6 mm steel firebox send warmth forward through the 959 mm opening.
A blank canvas for your finish
Factory plastered and painted in any colour, or bare concrete ready for stone, schist or brick.
Log storage that matches
500 mm or 800 mm concrete wood storage widens it to 2,390 mm or 2,990 mm and takes the same finish.
Measured and planned with you
We check your pad, clearances and truck access before delivery, so the lift runs to plan.
A taller chimney if you need it
400 mm concrete extension blocks raise the chimney near eaves or a two-storey wall.
Why you should consider a Trendz outdoor fireplace
Trendz has designed and precast outdoor fireplaces in New Zealand since 2006, as a family business with an Australian office in Kingswood, South Australia. Every model uses a fibre-reinforced concrete mix made for high heat, fitted with a 6 mm steel firebox. Order through My Acre and we will beat any genuine like-for-like price you find elsewhere. If a warranty question ever comes up, you deal with us, not the maker.

How your fireplace gets home
Installation is the part that decides whether a large fireplace turns out right, so we never leave it to chance. Whether you order online or call us first, this is how we work with you.
- Choose with us, or order online. Call first and we help you settle the model, size and finish. Order online and we call you to start the plan. Either way, nothing is left to guesswork.
- We measure before anything ships. Photos and measurements of your site tell us the pad size, the clearances and exactly where the truck can park.
- Your pad goes in. Trendz supplies the engineer's footing drawings. Your builder or landscaper pours the concrete pad to suit.
- Delivered and lifted into place. Free freight to your nearest depot, then a local hiab lifts it onto the pad. We can book the hiab for you or work with your builder's.
- First fire, then we check in. The flue slides on and the wood storage is attached. We call within a week to make sure everything is right.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to talk to someone before I order?
We recommend it. A quote request or a call lets the owner check your site, confirm the size and finish, then plan how it reaches you.
What delivery options are there?
Depot delivery is free to your nearest freight depot anywhere in Australia, for your own builder or project to collect and place. Delivery to the front of your property is quoted for your address. Delivery with installation is quoted for your site. Request a quote and we confirm the option and the price before you commit.
Should I plaster the Douglas or clad it?
Plastered and painted is done at the Trendz factory, so it arrives finished in your colour. Bare concrete has natural marks and is intended for cladding in schist, river stone, brick or similar on site.
How is the Douglas installed?
It arrives in one piece. A hiab lifts it onto a level concrete pad and it is fixed in place. We measure your site and plan the lift with you first, so the day runs to plan.
How much does the hiab cost?
Delivery to your nearest freight depot is free. Hiab hire from the depot to your site depends on your location and the lift. We quote it for your address before you commit.
How far can a hiab reach?
Trendz advises the Douglas can typically be lifted up to 20 metres from where the truck parks, depending on the local truck and your site. We confirm this with you before you order.
Will the firebox rust?
Surface rust is expected over time. The firebox is 6 mm steel with a double-skinned backplate, so it will not rust through. A touch-up with heat-resistant paint every 6 to 12 months keeps it looking new.
Can the chimney be made taller?
Yes. 400 mm concrete extension blocks, supplied with mortar, epoxy and rods, stack onto the chimney. Extra height needs proper support, so talk to us about your site first.
Do I need council approval?
Rules for outdoor wood fireplaces vary between councils and states. Check with your local council before you order; we can send you the dimensions and weight they will ask for.
Does it come with a warranty?
Trendz provides a 2-year warranty on every fireplace. We handle any claim with Trendz for you.
