The owner's insights on the Burton
The Burton comes in two sizes of the same design. The Mini is 1,400 mm wide and 2,600 mm tall to the top of its black flue; the Standard widens to 1,800 mm and rises to 2,850 mm. Choose by the space you have and how far you want the heat to reach, since the Standard's firebox opening is 1,302 mm against the Mini's 966 mm.
Each one arrives as a single precast concrete piece. There is no block laying and no rendering on site. A hiab lifts it onto your concrete pad, it is bolted down and the flue slides on.
That lift is the part to plan carefully. A Mini weighs 1,000 kg and a Standard 1,500 kg, so we measure your site first: the pad, the clearances and how close a truck can park. Whether you order online or call us first, we work through it with you before anything leaves the depot.
It suits modern homes with clean lines. If you prefer a concrete chimney to a steel flue, the Douglas and Hudson are the ones to compare.
Talk to the owner before you order
Tell Hayden where it is going. He works out how it gets there (the pad, the clearances, the truck and the lift) and quotes the whole job first, so you decide once you know the full cost.
Why you'll love the Burton
Two sizes, one look
Mini at 1,400 mm wide for courtyards, Standard at 1,800 mm for larger patios and poolside areas.
Heat thrown forward
The 6 mm steel firebox has a double-skinned backplate that sends warmth out the front, not up the flue.
Finished before it arrives
Order it plastered and painted in your colour, or in board form concrete with real timber grain.
Firewood that frames the fire
Corten steel, black steel or concrete storage either side, from 500 mm to 800 mm wide.
Measured and planned with you
We check your pad, clearances and truck access before delivery, so the lift runs to plan.
Cook over it
Add the swinging grill, cooking frame, rotisserie or pizza hood whenever you are ready.

How your fireplace gets home
Installation is the part that decides whether a large fireplace turns out right, so we never leave it to chance. Whether you order online or call us first, this is how we work with you.
- Choose with us, or order online. Call first and we help you settle the model, size and finish. Order online and we call you to start the plan. Either way, nothing is left to guesswork.
- We measure before anything ships. Photos and measurements of your site tell us the pad size, the clearances and exactly where the truck can park.
- Your pad goes in. Trendz supplies the engineer's footing drawings. Your builder or landscaper pours the concrete pad to suit.
- Delivered and lifted into place. Free freight to your nearest depot, then a local hiab lifts it onto the pad. We can book the hiab for you or work with your builder's.
- First fire, then we check in. The flue slides on and the wood storage is attached. We call within a week to make sure everything is right.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to talk to someone before I order?
We recommend it. A quote request or a call lets the owner check your site, confirm the size and finish, then plan how it reaches you.
What delivery options are there?
Depot delivery is free to your nearest freight depot anywhere in Australia, for your own builder or project to collect and place. Delivery to the front of your property is quoted for your address. Delivery with installation is quoted for your site. Request a quote and we confirm the option and the price before you commit.
Which size should I choose, Mini or Standard?
Measure the wall or patio it will face. The Mini is 1,400 mm wide and suits courtyards and compact alfresco areas. The Standard is 1,800 mm wide with a 1,302 mm firebox, so it warms a larger area and holds its own beside a pool or a big deck.
How is the Burton installed?
It arrives in one piece. A hiab lifts it onto a level concrete pad, it is bolted down and the flue slides on. We measure your site and plan the lift with you first, so the day runs to plan.
How much does the hiab cost?
Delivery to your nearest freight depot is free. Hiab hire from the depot to your site depends on your location and the lift. We quote it for your address before you commit.
Can it go on a timber deck?
Yes, on a non-combustible floor protector under it that extends at least 600 mm in front. The deck must also be engineered for the weight. Most owners pour a concrete footing up to deck height instead.
What finish should I choose?
Bare concrete has natural marks and suits cladding in stone, brick or schist. Plastered and painted arrives finished in your colour. Board form concrete carries real timber grain cast into the surface.
Which wood storage suits me?
Corten steel arrives pre-weathered to a rust patina. Black steel gives a darker, cleaner line. Concrete storage matches the body and is painted with it when you choose plastered.
How close can it go to the house?
The single skin flue needs 1,200 mm (Mini) or 1,400 mm (Standard) clearance from heat-sensitive materials. The concrete body needs a 50 mm ventilated gap. Council rules vary, so check yours before you order.
Does it come with a warranty?
Trendz provides a 2-year warranty on every fireplace. We handle any claim with Trendz for you.
