Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Round 20 be used indoors?
Yes, with the Indoor specification selected at purchase. To meet EN 16647, the included Indoor Safety Tray and AB8 Efficiency Ring must be fitted before lighting, and the room must meet the minimum volume of 116 m³. Below that, use the Outdoor specification in a well-ventilated covered area.
How much space does the Round 20 heat?
The Round 20 heats on average 60 m², enough to take the edge off cool evenings for roughly four to eight people. Like all bioethanol fires it is supplemental, ambient heat and a focal point, not primary whole-home heating.
What does the Round 20 cost to run?
At full flame the AB8 uses 1.1 L/hr, about $6.60 to $7.30 per hour on e-NRG bioethanol with delivery included. A low flame setting cuts that by roughly 30 to 50 per cent, to about $3.30 to $4.80 per hour.
How is the Round 20 installed?
It is a drop-in kit, not freestanding. A 630 mm circular cut-out is made in a non-combustible surround (concrete, stone, porcelain tile, treated hardwood or steel), and the tray rests flush or just below the surface. Setback and overhead clearances follow the EcoSmart installation manual. At 16.04 kg the tray is manageable for two people.
Which cover and screen fit the Round 20?
The R20 Fire Screen (R530) reduces wind impact and fuel use. The R20 Cover Plate is a toughened-glass plate that closes over the burner for a flat surface when off. The AB8 Silicone Burner Cover protects the burner between uses.
