Round Bioethanol Fire Pit Kit for Indoor and Outdoor Built-In Installation
The EcoSmart Round 20 Fire Pit Kit is a 630 mm circular built-in fire feature powered by a single AB8 burner delivering 6 kW and 8 litres of fuel capacity. Available in Stainless Steel or Black burner finish, and in Indoor or Outdoor specification, it burns for 7 to 9 hours on a single fill. The round format suits circular coffee tables, curved lounge surrounds, outdoor pool areas and commercial hospitality settings where a softer silhouette is preferred. No gas connection, no flue and no permanent fuel lines.
Perfect For
- Circular coffee tables and round lounge surrounds in indoor living rooms or outdoor entertaining areas
- Pool and garden settings where a curved fire form complements the landscape design
- Hotel lobbies, resort terraces and restaurants where a round fire feature creates a focal point viewable from all angles
- Custom built-in fire features in concrete or stone where a circular cut-out suits the design brief
Why You'll Love This
630 mm Circle, Viewed From Every Angle
The circular format has no dominant viewing angle. Guests seated in any position around the table have an equal relationship with the flame. This makes the Round 20 well suited to casual lounge settings and social gathering spaces.
6 kW, 7 to 9 Hours
The AB8 burner delivers 6 kW from 8 litres of bioethanol. At a low flame setting a single fill runs for up to 9 hours, covering a full evening gathering or commercial service without needing a refill.
No Gas, No Flue
Bioethanol burns cleanly with no smoke, soot or ash. No gas line, no chimney, no exhaust. Fill from a standard bioethanol container using the supplied funnel, light and go. Refuelling takes under two minutes.
Stainless Steel or Black Finish
Choose the finish that suits the surround palette. Stainless Steel works with light stone, white render and natural timber. Black suits charcoal, dark concrete and powder-coated steel surrounds. Same AB8 mechanism in both.
Features
Built-In Kit, Not Freestanding
The Round 20 drops into a circular cut-out in a custom-built surround. The opening must accommodate the 630 mm diameter footprint. The tray sits flush or just below the finished surface for a clean, integrated look.
Indoor and Outdoor Rated
Select Indoor or Outdoor at purchase. The Indoor variant requires the minimum room volume stated in the installation manual. Both use the same tray and AB8 burner.
Mild Steel with Toughened Glass
The tray body is mild steel with a high-temperature coating. Glass panels are toughened for sustained outdoor exposure. Both materials hold their finish in Australian conditions through years of regular use.
16.1 kg, Compact and Manageable
At 16.1 kg the tray is easy for two people to position during installation. No special structural engineering is required for standard concrete, stone or hardwood surrounds.
Black Glass Fire Media Included
Black glass rocks are included and fill the tray around the burner housing. The flame appears to rise directly from the glass surface rather than a visible burner mechanism. Lay the glass in place and light.
Heats Up to 60 m²
The AB8 burner produces enough warmth to take the edge off cool evenings in a 60 m² outdoor area. Suitable for four to eight people seated around or near the fire feature.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size cut-out does the Round 20 require?
The tray is 630 mm in diameter and 198 mm deep. The circular cut-out must match the 630 mm diameter. The tray drops in and rests on a ledge or support frame within the surround. Refer to the installation manual for exact clearance and ventilation requirements around the tray.
How does the Round 20 compare to the Square 22?
Both use the AB8 burner at 6 kW with 8 L capacity and 7 to 9 hours burn time. The Round 20 is 630 mm in diameter and suits circular tables and curved surround designs. The Square 22 is 622 x 622 mm and suits square table formats. The choice comes down to the shape of the surround.
Can it be used indoors?
Yes, with the Indoor variant. The installation manual specifies the minimum room volume for the AB8 burner. If the space does not meet this requirement, use the Outdoor variant in a well-ventilated covered area instead.
Does it produce smoke or need a flue?
No. Bioethanol burns cleanly with no smoke, soot or ash residue. No flue or chimney is required. The only byproduct is a small amount of water vapour and carbon dioxide, which is why minimum room volume requirements apply for indoor use.
What surround materials work with the Round 20?
Concrete, natural stone, porcelain tile, treated hardwood and powder-coated steel all work. The EcoSmart clearances guide lists minimum setback distances from both combustible and non-combustible materials. At 16.1 kg the tray is manageable for standard surround construction without special structural support.
Is bioethanol fuel available in Australia?
Yes. Denatured bioethanol for fireplaces is available from My Acre and from hardware and specialty stores across Australia. Only use fuel rated for indoor bioethanol fireplace use. Standard methylated spirits is a different product and must not be used.
