This is the same e-NRG bioethanol we have sold since day one, infused with soft vanilla aromatic notes. The fuel is unchanged: same Australian bottling, same flame arrester on every bottle, same 20 L carton of four 5 L bottles. The only difference is what the room smells like once the fire is lit.
We recommend it for indoor burners and covered alfresco areas, where the scent has walls to hold it. What vanilla bioethanol fuel costs to run
Vanilla e-NRG works out between $6.53 and $7.12 per litre delivered, depending on how many cartons you take. That is $10 more than unscented e-NRG on a two carton order, widening to $50 at ten cartons. Burner usage does not change: an AB3 uses about 0.4 L/hr, an AB8 about 1.1 L/hr, an XL500 about 0.8 L/hr, an XL900 about 1.7 L/hr and an XL1200 about 2.4 L/hr. In running cost that is about $2.61 to $2.85 an hour for an AB3, $7.18 to $7.84 for an AB8, and $15.67 to $17.10 for an XL1200. Keep cartons sealed, upright, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
Where scented bioethanol fuel works best
Scent needs somewhere to gather. Indoor burners are the obvious home for it. Covered alfresco rooms, verandahs and courtyards with a roof and two or three walls hold it well. Open decks, exposed poolside settings and windy coastal blocks do not. The aroma is real but it is gentle by design, so anywhere the air moves freely you will struggle to notice it.

How strong is the vanilla scent?
Subtle. It is described by e-NRG as soft vanilla aromatic notes, designed to add a gentle background fragrance without overpowering the room. If you are expecting the intensity of a scented candle, this is not that.
Can I use vanilla e-NRG in my existing burner?
Yes. It is the same e-NRG bioethanol with an aromatic infusion, so any burner running standard e-NRG takes it with no conversion, adjustment or extra accessory.
Can I mix vanilla and unscented in the same burner?
Yes, in the burner. Run vanilla when you are entertaining indoors, then go back to unscented for everyday use. Ordering is the part to watch: each blend ships in its own minimum of 2 cartons, so keeping both on hand means 2 vanilla plus 2 unscented. Let the burner cool fully before refuelling either way.
Is it worth it outdoors?
Only under cover. On a roofed alfresco area, a verandah or an enclosed courtyard it works well. On an open deck or by an exposed pool the breeze carries the aroma off, so we would put you on unscented instead.
How much more does vanilla cost than unscented?
Between 1% and 4%, depending on pack size. A two carton order is $285 against $275 for unscented; ten cartons is $1,310 against $1,260. Delivery is free on both.
