Ever sat down at a fire table and felt like you were dining with your ankles? EcoSmart's own range sits at coffee-table height: the Base 40 is 339 mm tall and the Pod 30 is 351 mm, both designed to pair with lounge seating rather than dining chairs. Keep reading for the real dimensions and how to match a table's height to the seating you already own.
Height isn't just an aesthetic choice, it changes how a fire table feels to sit around. Too low and everyone's hunched forward; too high and it stops feeling like furniture. EcoSmart's two ranges land squarely in coffee-table territory:

Both sit close to standard coffee-table height, which is exactly why they pair naturally with outdoor lounges, armchairs and deep-cushioned sofas rather than dining chairs.
If your patio is built around relaxed lounge seating, a coffee-height table like the Base 40 or Pod 30 sits close to cushion height, which keeps drinks and conversation within easy reach without anyone reaching up or leaning down awkwardly. If you'd rather eat proper meals around the flame, look for a taller, dining-height design and pair it with standard dining chairs instead; the trade-off is that a dining-height table takes up more visual real estate and generally needs a bigger footprint of its own.
Gas fire tables often sit taller than they need to, because the base has to hide a propane cylinder with room for airflow and valve access. EcoSmart's bioethanol burners carry no tank at all, just the AB8 burner and its 8 L fuel reservoir sitting inside the tabletop, so the height is set by design rather than by what needs to be concealed underneath. The table is freestanding with articulating feet, so it also self-levels on paving that isn't perfectly flat, without needing a taller plinth to compensate.
Height sorted, spacing matters just as much. Leave enough room around the seating area for people to walk past comfortably without brushing against the flame, and keep at least 2,000 mm of clearance above the burner and 600 mm from fixed objects outdoors, on a level, non-combustible base. Round tables tend to encourage conversation because everyone faces in, and work particularly well in open spaces where movement comes from multiple directions.
The perfect fire table height depends on how you actually live outdoors. If your backyard revolves around relaxed lounging, a coffee-height table like the Base 40 or Pod 30 is the better fit. If you regularly host proper outdoor dinners, size up to a dining-height design instead. Either way, measure your existing seating before you buy, since photos online can be misleading about true scale.
