Solid-Door Bar Fridge with a Choice of Hinge Side
The Schmick SK156-SD is a 164-litre solid-door bar fridge holding 144 cans behind a lockable stainless steel door, sold as separate left- and right-hinge models so it fits either side of the room.

Perfect For
- Kitchens, sheds and garages where a sealed door suits better than a lit glass display
- Buyers who want maximum insulation and don't need to see what's inside at a glance
- Anyone converting the fridge into a dedicated kegerator or commercial cool room
Why You'll Love This
144 Cans, Fully Sealed
A solid stainless steel door seals in the cold more effectively than glass, holding 144 standard cans across 3 large heavy-duty shelves.
Left or Right, Your Call
Sold as separate SK156R-SD and SK156L-SD models at the same price, so it fits a narrow space against a wall without the door catching on anything.
Genuinely Quiet
Running at 41 dB, quieter than the rest of the solid-door range, so it works in a kitchen or living space without being intrusive.
Lockable Door
An integrated lock keeps contents secure in a shared space, garage or commercial setting.
Features
Solid Insulated Door
A solid stainless steel door insulates better than glass, and is tested to a different GEMS energy standard than glass-door units, so the star rating isn't directly comparable to the glass-door range.
Schmick ECO Controller
A dedicated Schmick ECO electronic controller and quiet running Schmick fans keep operation stable and low-energy.
3 Large Heavy-Duty Shelves
Three large shelves handle a full load of cans or bottles, rated not to sag under weight.
Cyclopentane Insulation, R600 Gas
Cyclopentane foam insulation and ozone-safe R600 refrigerant hold a steady chill in indoor and covered outdoor spaces.

Fitting It In
Exterior dimensions are 595W x 586D x 840H mm. If it's going into a cavity, joinery or under-bench recess, build the opening at least 615W x 636D x 850H mm to cover the fridge body plus clearance, and keep 50mm clear at the rear for airflow. It also stands freestanding with no cabinetry at all.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I choose which side the door hinges?
A: Yes. It's sold as two separate models, SK156R-SD (right-hinge) and SK156L-SD (left-hinge), at the same price, so it fits whichever side of the room suits.
What temperature range can it be set to?
A: The SK156-SD's operating temperature can be set anywhere from 0°C through to 18°C.
Can I use it as a normal kitchen fridge for food?
A: It can be used for short-term food storage, but it isn't tested or rated as a kitchen fridge. Because it's fan-forced, food items should be in containers or covered to avoid being affected by the air flow.
Why is the energy star rating lower than glass-door models?
A: Solid-door units are tested to a different GEMS standard than glass-door units, so a 6-star solid-door rating isn't directly comparable to a glass-door star rating at similar running cost.
Can this fridge go outside?
A: It's rated for indoor use and covered, enclosed outdoor areas, not open-air exposure to direct sun or rain.
What's the warranty and who handles a claim?
A: 2 years parts and labour. My Acre manages the claim directly so buyers aren't left chasing an overseas supplier.
