This is the small end of the Otterbine range: one half-horsepower unit that floats in a dam or large pond and does the work of an aerator and a fountain together.
Every nozzle comes in the box. Gemini is fitted from new for a plume. High Volume gives a low boil that moves the most water. Phoenix and Rocket throw height. The horizontal mixer drops the spray altogether and pushes water about 35 metres across the surface, which suits a pond where you want circulation without a display.
It suits water up to about 3,000 square metres and at least 41 cm deep. Beyond that, a 1 to 5 HP aerating fountain is the better answer. Ask us and we will say which side of the line you are on.
Lighting is worth deciding now. White or RGB LED sets mount on the unit, so fitting them later means handling the fountain again. Timer and plug are not included: your electrician prepares the shore power.

Step three: cable length
- 1. Walk from where the unit will float to where the power will terminate on shore.
- 2. Add a few metres for the run up the bank, not a straight line across the water.
- 3. Choose 25 m or 30 m. Other lengths are quoted to order, so ask before you settle for a stretch.

What to measure before you decide
- Surface area of the water, length times width in metres.
- Depth where the unit will sit, which must be at least 41 cm.
- Distance from that spot to the shore power point, in metres.
- Whether you want it lit at night, since the light set mounts on the unit. Fitting it later means pulling the unit out again.
- Whether you want a display at all. The mixer moves water with nothing visible above the surface.

What the installation involves
- A licensed electrician prepares the power connection with RCD protection, plus a timer if you want one. The timer and plug are not supplied with the unit.
- Power is trenched to the water in conduit, then joined at the cable quick disconnect.
- Spray patterns anchor or moor at two points. The horizontal mixer is held at three.
Some assembly is needed out of the box. Install cost depends on the site, so we talk it through with you before you order.

How big a pond does it suit?
Otterbine size it for ponds up to about 3,000 square metres. The water needs to be at least 41 cm deep. For a larger dam, step up to a 1 to 5 HP aerating fountain.
Which patterns are included?
All of them. Gemini, High Volume, Phoenix and Rocket nozzles come in the box, plus the horizontal mixer. Gemini is fitted from new. Changing pattern is a hand job at the unit.
What does the mixer do?
It pushes water sideways instead of spraying it, moving water roughly 35 metres across the surface. Use it where you want circulation without a visible fountain.
What is not included?
The timer and the plug. A licensed electrician prepares the power connection with RCD protection and a timer if you want one, then trenches the cable in conduit to the water.
Can I add lighting later?
Yes, though it costs less to order it with the unit. The light set mounts on the fountain, so a later fit means handling the unit again.
What maintenance does it need?
None scheduled. Clean the intake screen by hand or with a wire brush if it clogs.
Does it run through winter?
The Gemini, High Volume and mixer configurations can stay in the water. Phoenix and Rocket should come out before freezing, which matters in alpine areas rather than most of Australia.
What does the warranty cover?
Three years, all inclusive. You call My Acre and we handle the claim with Aquatec.
