The reason you'd add this on: your kit already includes enough Jointing Adhesive for the standard install, so you'd order more only when adding a matched accessory later, like the Chimney Block or a Log Store. It's the heat-resistant refractory adhesive formulated for the pumice mix on the Ossa, Hotham and Perisher; a standard masonry adhesive isn't rated for the same heat and movement. How many units do I need for a full kit?
It depends on the kit and the joint width. As a guide, allow one unit for a standard Ossa install and scale up for the Hotham and Perisher. Call us and we'll size it for you.
Can I use a standard masonry adhesive instead?
We don't recommend it. Standard adhesives aren't always rated for the heat and movement an outdoor fireplace install goes through.
How long does it take to set?
Set times vary with conditions. Check the product sheet for the working window and the full cure time before you light a fire.
