Why aluminium wins in coastal and humid spots
Steel is not the better pick once rust enters the picture, despite being the stronger of the two materials. An Australian dealer’s own buying guide puts it plainly: steel is heavy and can rust over time, while aluminium carries roughly the same strength with far less weight and does not rust. But the steel frame had rusted and needed replacing. The base held; the frame did not.
