For a courtyard or balcony the Mix 600 (from $1,295) is the pick; for an open terrace or an indoor alfresco the Pod 30 fire pit (from $1,995) or Manhattan 50 fire table (from $2,695) give the most heat and presence, and for a built-in bench or wall the Linear 50 kit (from $3,995) drops straight into a non-combustible surround.
EcoSmart Fire is a designer bioethanol range of fire pits, fire tables and drop-in fire pit kits, running on e-NRG fuel with no gas line and no flue. It suits coastal and prestige homes where a mains-gas run or masonry flue is impossible or unwelcome, as a real, radiant flame for the people gathered around it rather than a whole-house heater.

Yes, if you want a real, radiant flame without a gas line or flue. EcoSmart Fire is a designer bioethanol range of fire pits, fire tables and drop-in fire pit kits. Each unit burns e-NRG bioethanol in a Grade 304 stainless burner for a real flame with no smoke, soot or ash, so freestanding models need no installation and kits set into a non-combustible surround. It warms the people gathered around it rather than a whole house.
Yes, when used as directed. EcoSmart Fire burners are certified to UL 1370 and EN 16647 and comply with the ACCC Safety Mandate. Never refuel while the fire is running or hot; let the burner cool for at least 60 minutes, use only the supplied safety nozzle, and do not fill past the MAX line. Indoors, fit a smoke alarm and keep an extinguisher on hand.
Roughly $2 to $6 per hour at full flame for most residential burners, up to about $7 for the largest AB8 burner. This is based on the e-NRG delivered price of about $6.00 to $6.60 per litre. As examples: Mix 600 about $1.90/h, Linear 50 about $5/h, Pod 30 and Manhattan 50 about $6.90/h. A low flame cuts fuel use and cost by 30 to 50 per cent.
Between about 2 kW and 6 kW depending on the model. The Mix 600 puts out 2 kW for around 20 m², while the Pod 30 fire pit and Manhattan 50 fire table each give 6 kW for around 60 m²; the Linear 50 kit gives 4 kW for around 60 m². These figures are indicative radiant warmth for the people around the flame, not whole-house heating, and vary with install and conditions.
Some models can. The Mix 600 is outdoor only, while the Pod 30, Manhattan 50 and Linear 50 kit are rated for indoor or outdoor use. Indoor operation always needs extra parts (an Indoor Safety Tray and matching Burner Efficiency Ring) to meet the EN 16647 standard, plus adequate ventilation. Minimum room volume ranges from 40 m³ to 116 m³ across these models; check each product page.
Between roughly 7 and 14 hours, depending on the burner and flame setting. Consumption runs from 0.31 L/h on a compact burner up to 1.1 L/h on the largest AB8 burner at full flame. The Mix 600 (2.5 L) burns 8 to 11 hours and the Manhattan 50 (8 L) burns 7 to 9 hours. A lower flame extends the burn.
They use e-NRG bioethanol, the only fuel tested with and recommended for these burners; using another fuel voids the warranty. Do not substitute isopropyl, methylated or denatured spirits, gel fuels or untested supermarket bioethanol. e-NRG is around 96 to 97 per cent pure ethanol and is certified with the burners as a system.
A fire pit is a freestanding, portable sculptural unit. A fire table is also freestanding and portable but adds a usable surface for glasses and plates. A fire pit kit is a drop-in burner unit (tray, stainless burner and black glass) set into a non-combustible surround you build or specify. Pits and tables need no installation; kits need a suitable surround.
Yes. Every EcoSmart Fire carries a 2-year warranty, managed by My Acre, with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and free returns. The burners are Grade 304 stainless steel with an optional black ceramic coating; fire pit and fire table surrounds are Fluid Concrete or, on some tables, teak. Natural variation in colour, texture and porosity, and non-structural hairline cracks, are inherent to Fluid Concrete and are not defects.
